There are many of you who have asked us on more than one occasion for a simple way to connect an iPhone with an Android Wear smartwatch, without the need to jailbreak or root our Android terminal.
Today we are in a position to show you how to pair the iPhone with an Android watch in a more than simple way, just by downloading two applications, one on the iPhone, and another on the Android terminal.
The only requirement, besides of course having both smartphones, is to use a smartwatch with a version of Android Wear higher than 5.0. In our case we have used the LG G Watch.
The rest of the instructions to connect an iPhone with an Android Wear smartwatch are very simple. You just have to follow the steps that appear in the video:
Step 1
After installation, restart your Android Wear smartwatch and you will see the Aerlink app appear immediately on the watch among the compatible apps on the device. If you open the same application on your Android terminal, you will see that the need to activate the “iOS Services” option is indicated.
Step 2
Already on the iPhone we must run the BLE Utility app. We activate the phone’s Bluetooth and move to the “Peripheral” option, the second icon in the lower area.
As soon as you access, you will see that a card appears on your Android Wear watch indicating that it is ready to pair your iPhone with the Android Wear smartwatch. Click on the card to start the connection between devices.
Step 3
It’s time to pair the iPhone with the Android watch. After the search and location, a 6-digit code will appear on the smartwatch that we must enter in the corresponding field of the Ble Utility application on iPhone. Once this is done, both devices will be linked and you will be able to receive iPhone notifications on your Android Wear smartwatch.
One of the great advantages of this system is that you don’t need to have bluetooth activated or carry your Android terminal with you, since once the process is finished, the iPhone and the smartwatch will act independently.
Unfortunately, these applications only allow you to check notifications, and you will not be able to answer them from the watch. Of course, you can also check the status of the iPhone’s battery (which, by the way, is consumed alarmingly with this process) and even control the Apple phone’s music player from the smartwatch.
