There is a lot of discussion about the lack of precision of the measurement, and although the fluctuations between the values ​​of the watch and the heart rate monitor are insignificant, in your training they could be crucial.

Not sure if you want a smart watch with notifications and connected to your phone or just a meter of your race results? It depends on the budget you have prepared for your watch. Because for a smart watch you will pay more and the ideal is to have a smart phone to download the application that will communicate with your watch. For example a Garmin smart watch, which measures your activity throughout the day, calories burned, run length and sleep quality and many other activities. You don’t need them to run, but I personally like to look at them all out of curiosity. The watch can be disconnected from the mobile whenever you want and works perfectly like an ordinary sports watch. Ordinary GPS watches without notifications are much easier to manage, you put them on before running and they keep you company during your run but at bedtime they separate from you. It also has a good thing, you don’t depend so much on technology.

Especially since that way you get to separate yourself from your phone. You leave it at home, let it play there and you can go running with a clean head.
